This march was written as a commission from and dedicated to a close friend of mine, an admirable man with whom I served in the military: Bradley Mattson. His request was to have a traditional American Military March, but with the flair and pomp of a British March.
The work is named for an old nickname of his: while working in the financial industry (while also serving as a reservist), his coworkers referred to him as "The Colonel."
