Written for and premiered by The Imani Winds!
On classic staple of the folk tale repertoire is Scheherazade and the 1,001 Arabian Nights. To provide an overly brief synopsis, Scheherazade, on her wedding night, realizes that she is to be executed the next morning. In an attempt to prolong her life, she begins telling the king a tale, but does not finish the tale. In his eagerness to find out how the story ends, he delays her execution until he hears the conclusion. This continues for 1,001 nights. But what would happen if there were just one more night?
